Adrian Griffee.
Founder, designer, and the person who’ll walk your property if you decide to call.
I’m Adrian Griffee — your custom pool builder DFW owner since 2004. I started Platinum Pools because I wanted to build pools the way I’d want one built at my own home — by the owner, on a small number of projects, with the kind of attention that gets quietly lost the moment a company scales past it.
Twenty-plus years later, that hasn’t changed. We still cap our work at eight to ten projects a year. I still design every pool myself. And I’m still the single point of contact from the first site visit to the day the pool is filled — and for years after.
My family lives in DFW. My clients are my neighbors. The reputation I’m building is the one my kids will inherit. That’s not a marketing line — it’s the reason every decision on this company runs through one person.
Why your custom pool builder DFW owner should be the same person.
Before Platinum Pools, I spent enough time around the high-volume side of the industry to understand exactly what gets sacrificed when a builder runs fifty or a hundred projects a year. Design becomes templated. The owner you met at the showroom disappears. A rotating cast of project managers and subcontractors becomes the actual builder of your pool — and the person who sold you the dream is three projects ahead, selling the next one.
I wasn’t interested in building that company.
I was interested in building backyards I’d be proud to put my name on, for homeowners who already understood the difference between a builder who answers the phone and a builder who doesn’t.
That’s the only model I’ve ever run Platinum Pools on. It’s the reason most of our work still comes from past clients quietly recommending us to neighbors in Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, Westlake, and the Park Cities. And it’s the reason I turn down more work than I take.
The reason the standard doesn’t slip.
A pool is a place a family will spend twenty summers. I take that seriously because of mine.
My wife and our kids are the reason this company looks the way it does. They’re the reason I don’t take more than eight projects a year — because if I’m on a job site at 7pm, I’m not at the dinner table. They’re the reason every backyard I design has to work the way real families actually use one: long Saturdays, birthday parties, the dog, the cousins, the in-laws, the quiet Tuesday night swim.
When I walk your property, I’m not picturing a portfolio shot. I’m picturing your kids on the steps, your parents on the deck, the way the light will fall on a July evening twelve years from now. That’s the only way I know how to build.
Why your custom pool builder in DFW should be the owner.
You call. I answer.
When you call Platinum Pools, you reach me — not a sales rep, not a call center, not a project coordinator. I come to your property myself, usually within a few days, and often in the evening if that’s easier.
We walk the lot together.
I ask questions about how you actually use your home, what’s worked or hasn’t worked at past properties, and what privacy, view, and access considerations matter most. The design starts with the property, not a template.
A real proposal — fully itemized.
You receive 3D photorealistic renderings, hand-selected material samples, and a fully itemized written proposal. Every line broken out. No vague “allowances” hiding cost surprises later.
HOA, permits, build — managed directly.
I personally handle every city permit submission and HOA architectural review packet, including the more rigorous boards across Vaquero, Timarron, Clariden Ranch, and the Park Cities. Our long-standing crews break ground and build with discretion.
Reveal day — and the years after.
I walk you through every system personally and leave a documented binder. Then I stay reachable — because the structural warranty on a Platinum pool is lifetime and transferable, and because the relationship doesn’t end at handover.
